Complimentary Phone Consultation
-
There are two options to schedule your complimentary consultation: Give us a call or send us an email.
-
The purpose of the phone consultation is to get to know one another, hear your concerns, and help determine how we can best meet your needs. The therapist will ask you some questions over the phone and you will have an opportunity to have your questions answered.
-
At the end of the phone consultation, the therapist will provide suggestions for next steps, including scheduling an initial in-person appointment or providing you with other referrals in the community.
Before Your First Appointment
-
Your therapist will send you our arrival packet via our secure online system. The packet includes our intake questionnaire and consent forms. We recommend completing these online before the first appointment to give your therapist sufficient time to review them in advance. However, you may wish to complete the forms in person with your therapist at the first session.
-
Please arrive a few minutes early to the initial appointment to get oriented. We are located at 45 San Clemente Drive, Suite D210 (second floor) in Corte Madera. Our space has ample parking and is conveniently located near the Village Shopping Center. Your therapist will greet you at your appointment time in the waiting room.
Intake Assessment (First Session)
-
Before beginning treatment, it is important for your therapist to understand you and your child’s perspectives and needs. Your first appointment will follow up from the phone consultation, to learn more about your concerns, goals for treatment, and your background.
-
The initial assessment is scheduled for two hours and can be done in one 2-hour session or split across two 1-hour sessions.
-
At the end of the assessment your therapist will share his/her impressions and recommendations. You and your therapist will put together a personalized plan for treatment and schedule a time for regular ongoing sessions. It is also possible that your therapist will provide referrals if he/she feels your needs would be better met at another center.
Ongoing Therapy
-
Ongoing 50-minute therapy appointments can be scheduled weekly, though more/less frequent sessions or longer session times can be arranged.
-
You will receive evidence-based therapy that will be tailored to your or your child’s individual needs. You and your therapist will set goals and monitor progress toward them. Therapy will teach ways to manage anxiety, behavioral issues, and related concerns, so that you or your child can return to what matters most in life
-
At your request, your therapist will collaborate with outside providers, such as teachers, psychiatrists or other providers. Collaboration can help assure the best quality care.
